Vehicle description

This 1969 Shelby GT350 is a rare and highly collectible example of Shelby’s late-’60s performance legacy, representing one of approximately 673 fastbacks produced for the model year. Originally specified in Silver Jade over a black interior, this GT350 was factory-equipped with a 351ci Windsor V8, a four-speed manual transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes—delivering the balanced blend of performance and drivability that defined Shelby’s evolution during this era. According to its Elite Marti Report, it is one of just seven cars built in this exact configuration and color combination.

After spending more than three decades off the road, the car was acquired in 2015 and subsequently underwent a comprehensive recommissioning completed in 2026. The restoration process included a full exterior refinish in its original Silver Jade using modern two-stage PPG materials, following disassembly and necessary body repairs. Brightwork was restored through polishing and re-plating, while correct-style striping was reapplied to maintain its factory appearance.

Mechanically, the 351ci V8 was overhauled with attention to reliability and performance, including a refreshed valvetrain, upgraded oiling system, and renewed ignition components. The cooling and fuel systems were also addressed with a re-cored radiator and replacement tank, pump, and lines. Power is delivered through a Toploader four-speed manual transmission, which received a new clutch along with supporting drivetrain updates such as refreshed mounts, axle bearings, and seals, ensuring a solid and engaging driving experience.

The chassis and suspension were similarly sorted, with replacement of key wear components including ball joints, bushings, tie rods, and wheel bearings. KYB shocks were installed to improve ride control, while the power-assisted braking system was fully rebuilt for confident stopping performance. The car rides on restored 15″ Shelby wheels wrapped in period-style Goodyear Polyglas tires, reinforcing its authentic muscle car stance.

Inside, the cabin has been refreshed to match its original specification, with reupholstered high-back seats, new carpeting, and replacement door panels and dashboard pad. Factory features such as the Sport Deck rear seat, AM radio, Deluxe belts, and tachometer remain integral to the car’s period-correct presentation. The driver is met with a classic Shelby instrument layout, combining primary gauges with auxiliary readouts mounted ahead of the shifter.

With its rare specification, documented provenance, and thorough recommissioning after long-term storage, this GT350 stands as a compelling example of late-1960s American performance. It offers both historical significance and renewed mechanical integrity, making it equally suited for collection or enjoyment on the road.

Whether you’re drawn to its rarity, its Shelby pedigree, or the unmistakable presence of a properly sorted fastback, this GT350 delivers timeless muscle, authentic character, and a direct connection to one of the most celebrated eras in automotive history.
