Vehicle description

This 1963 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova 400 Sport Coupe is a highly customized, design-driven restomod that blends early-1960s Chevrolet compact proportions with modern LS-based performance, contemporary chassis engineering, and a full show-quality aesthetic inspired by an Eric Brockmeyer design rendering. The result is a dramatically reimagined Chevy II that delivers supercar-level drivability within one of Chevrolet’s most iconic lightweight platforms.

This Nova has been executed with an emphasis on visual cohesion and modern performance integration. The body has been extensively smoothed and refinished in a striking two-tone combination of PPG Metallic Silver and Atomic Orange, with the color scheme carried throughout the engine bay and interior for a fully unified presentation. Custom details include a billet grille, body-color bumpers, custom mirrors, tinted glass, and shaved door and trunk popper operation, contributing to the car’s clean, uninterrupted surface design and show-oriented aesthetic.

The stance is both aggressive and highly adjustable thanks to a comprehensive suspension package. A Heidts independent front suspension system provides modern geometry and improved handling precision, while the rear setup utilizes ladder bars and a Panhard bar for stability and traction control. An adjustable air suspension system at all four corners allows the car’s ride height and stance to be tailored on demand. Wilwood disc brakes at all four wheels provide substantial stopping power, ensuring performance is matched by control.

The car rides on staggered Coys alloy wheels measuring 18 inches up front and 20 inches in the rear, mounted with low-profile Riken tires that emphasize its performance-forward, show-car stance. The overall visual effect is modern, aggressive, and purposefully designed to complement the car’s high-output drivetrain.

Inside, the cabin has been fully reimagined in saddle leather, extending across the front bucket seats, individual rear seating, custom full-length console, door panels, and dashboard. The craftsmanship is cohesive and upscale, reinforcing the car’s bespoke nature. Vintage Air climate control, power windows, a Lokar emergency brake handle, and a hidden audio system integrate modern comfort and convenience without disrupting the clean custom interior design.

The dashboard has been smoothed and fitted with Stewart-Warner instrumentation, housed within a clean custom layout designed to complement the minimalist aesthetic. A Billet Specialties steering wheel mounted to an Ididit steering column completes the driver-focused environment.

Power comes from a GM Performance 6.2-liter LS3 V8, delivering modern reliability, strong output, and excellent drivability in a lightweight classic platform. The engine bay has been extensively reworked, featuring smoothed firewall and inner fenders, billet hinges, an aluminum radiator, electric cooling fan, and a custom intake system integrated into the radiator support. Edelbrock shorty headers feed a custom side-exit exhaust system, giving the car a distinctive performance character both visually and acoustically.

Power is routed through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, providing precise gear selection and a highly engaging driving experience. A Ford 8.8-inch rear end completes the drivetrain, offering durability and compatibility with the LS3’s performance output.

This 1963 Chevy II Nova represents a fully realized modern interpretation of a classic compact muscle platform, combining award-level design influence, advanced chassis engineering, and contemporary LS power. With its cohesive aesthetic execution, high-quality components, and extremely limited use since completion, it stands as a striking example of a purpose-built custom that merges show-car presentation with serious performance capability.
